This pen had to be photographed with a high intensity light. The material is very dark and hard to show, but it has a subtle wood grain feature. We often get asked if it is wood that has been dyed. It is vulcanized rubber, similar to that of the old black bowling balls. We have had many requests for this color in the Nikko ebonite. We import rods of this material just for these pens.
We provide a converter so that you can use bottled ink. It is also comparable with cartridges.
